Mr. Doug Lavigne South Cobb Teacher at Sea |

Mr. Doug Lavigne, science teacher at South Cobb High School, was selected as the "Teacher at Sea" from several candidates from across the nation. This position allows Mr. Lavigne to travel to the Bering Sea on one of the leading scientific research ships, the JOIDES (Joint Oceanographic Institutions for Deep Earth Sampling) Resolution. Mr. Lavigne is currently on board the ship as it makes its way to the Aleutian Islands and its first drilling site, where Mr. Lavigne will participate in sampling of sediment and fossils from deep within the ocean floor. This is an amazing adventure for Mr. Lavigne and South Cobb High School. Mr. Lavigne will share his adventures with the South Cobb Community and Cobb County via his blog and video conferencing. The JOIDES Resolution expedition is operated by, The U.S. Implementing Organization, consisting of the Consortium for Ocean Leadership, Texas A&M University and Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University. Pinnacle Internet Viewer (PIV) for Parents and Students |

Parents may view a student's grades and attendance using the new internet viewer - pinnacle. To obtain a pinnacle account, parents are welcome to stop by the main office from 7:30 a.m to 3:30 p.m. A picture ID is required. Students will not be allowed to pick up a parent's username and password. Students should see their advisement teachers to receive access to their individual accounts. |

South Cobb Renovations May 29th to July 20th |
South Cobb will undergo renovations from May 29th to July 20th. The main building will be closed during this time. All South Cobb operations will be handled in the Magnet Building behind the stadium off Roberta Circle. Our summer office hours are Monday - Thursday from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. The office will be closed on Fridays. |
